Recap + Recents at The Elea Project

It has been a while since the blog has been updated with recent partnerships at local non-profit organizations!

Blue Ridge Foster Love

Recently, we completed our donation drive at Blue Ridge Foster Love. This partnership is particularly meaningful to me, as BRFL is based in Harrisonburg, Virginia; it is a delight to witness first-hand the growth of The Elea Project beyond Georgia borders to expand the mission of ameliorating period poverty and destigmatizing menstruation! The Blue Ridge Foster Love organization is a non-profit organization, which serves as a resource for foster and kinship families to provide children who have been separated from their biological parents with essential care items during their time in the foster care system. In this donation drive, we donated:

In this donation cycle, we donated the following:

2 x Always Maxi #4 (33 pads/pack)

4 x Always Maxi #2 (42 pads/pack)

2 x Always Ultra Thin #4 (26 pads/pack)

2 x Poise Thin (30 pads/pack)

1 x Tampax Radiant S (42 pads/pack)

4 x Tampax Radiant Reg (42 pads/pack)

3 x Tampax Radiant Mixed S and Reg (38 pads/pack)

Project Safe, Inc.

Our newest partnership was with Project Safe, Inc. Project Safe, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working “to end domestic violence through crisis intervention, ongoing supportive services, systems change advocacy, and prevention and education.” It was quite an enlightening experience working with an anti-domestic violence organization and to add another dimension to The Elea Project. Interestingly enough, the chapter of Project Safe, Inc. that we worked with at The Elea Project is actually based at the University of Georgia. Another organization of interest that The Elea Project seeks to work with in the future is The Period Project at The University of Georgia, which is another community outreach organization at the center of the nationwide movement to end period poverty and abate the stigma associated with menstruation. A like-minded organization to The Elea Project, The Period Project at the University of Georgia seeks to accomplish their mission by providing menstrual products and education.

In our partnership with Project Safe, Inc., we donated the following inventory:

2x Always Maxi #4 (33 pads/pack)

4x Always Maxi #2 (42 pads/pack)

2x Always Ultra Thin pads (26 pads/pack)

3x Tampax Regular/Small (33 pads/pack)

5x Tampax Regular (42 pads/pack)

I am personally grateful to all those who donated to our GoFundMe to enable this partnership to be a success! We were able to donate $175.40 worth of inventory to Project Safe, Inc.

The Atlanta Mission

Our newest partnership is with The Atlanta Mission, an organization dedicated to empowering the homeless. We are still in the process of amassing funds to make this partnership a reality! Please feel free to donate at the GoFundMe linked at the bottom of this blog post. We hope to have this donation drive accomplished by January.
