Keeping Families Covered - Making Strides in Illinois

Today’s blog is about an Illinois-based non-profit organization, Keeping Families Covered, founded in 2010 by Ann Marie Mathis. While tackling menstrual poverty is a major goal for the organization, the organization boasts a highly impressive track record in diaper distribution, with over 140,000 diapers distributed every month. In 2023, the organization, a proud member of both the National Diaper Bank Network and Alliance of Period Supplies) donated 75,000 period products to the community. To date, the organization has donated 946,926 period supplies and over 8 million diapers!

If you are from Illinois, this organization is 100% worth checking out; according to their website, there are a plethora of ways to get involved! You can donate goods directly (children’s clothing, maternity wear, children’s books, and baby formula), monetary donations, hosting local drives, and lending a hand with on-site drives.
